Posted by nebraskaobserver on May 17, 2008

ATLANTIC — Jose Miguel Cisneros-Ballesteros, 26 and wanted in California, was arrested Tuesday by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office after a high-speed chase through three Iowa counties. A Cass County sheriff’s deputy attempted to stop a Dodge Charger with no license plates about 6:10 p.m. on Interstate 80 at the 57-mile marker. The Charger sped away. Three Iowa State Patrol troopers joined the Cass County deputy in the chase. The fleeing driver avoided spike strips set up at two locations, and the pursuit continued east on the Interstate through Adair County before ending in Dallas County just east of mile marker 110. The driver was arrested on an outstanding auto theft warrant and was being held Wednesday pending further investigation. The Iowa State Patrol, Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and Stuart Police Department assisted the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
