I feel grateful for Dwayne Ball informing us (June 4 Midland Voices) that he was among a group of Nebraskans urging Ward Connerly to bring his petition to Nebraska.

As a University of Nebraska-Lincoln professor, he sees firsthand how the university practices reverse discrimination and has the courage to help Nebraskans try to end affirmative action.

Nebraska’s initiative and referendum petition process has been disabled by the Legislature and the State Supreme Court, and Ward Connerly’s help is needed and appreciated. We ought to sign the petition with enthusiasm and a free conscience.
