FREMONT, Neb. – Federal immigration agents have stepped up efforts in Fremont since the debate over a controversial City Council proposal that would have punished those who rented to or hired illegal immigrants, local leaders said Wednesday.

“We’ve had a lot more contact with their field agents,” Doug Campbell, Dodge County Director of Correction, said of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“They’ve been coming up and talking to us in person, reassuring us that if we need anything they’re there and available,” Campbell said.

County Attorney Paul Vaughan said ICE has placed more federal “holds” on illegal immigrants serving time for previous criminal acts.

News Bulletin: Fremont, Nebraska immigration task force grows!

Posted by nebraskaobserver on August 18, 2008

The Fremont, Nebraska task force on the cities illegal immigration issues has expanded to include representatives from the Attorney General Jon Bruning, U.S. Rep. Jeff Fortenberry and U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson’s offices. Too bad they don’t include the real elected officials.

Watch for Cindi with the Hispanic sounding name from the World-Herald to ask La Raza (The Race), the ACLU, the Nebraska Appleseed Project and many other radical nut groups if it’s OK! She is probably working overtime as our item is being posted. KPTM news item

EDITORIAL: Shades of the National Socialist Movement…ugly pro-illegal immigration rally in Arizona (an example of the truth!)

Posted by nebraskaobserver on July 15, 2008

In reference to our posting yesterday of comments by Mark Brannen, Omaha, regarding the recent July 5 neo-Nazi demonstration in South Omaha against illegal immigration, we offer these observations.

Since, the NebraskaObserver was not there, we do not know specifically what was being said in Mark’s alleged “discriminatory rant about illegal immigration”, however if any racial comments were made they are inexcusable in our opinion.

That said, the public needs to know (and the World-Herald and any other state or national news organization is not going to tell you) that the mere criticism of our nation’s immigration system or problems associated with illegal immigration is immediately condemned by the “open borders” crowd as “hate speech” and “racist”. It’s in their “play book”.

Now yelling and using a loudspeaker is fair game as far as we are concerned. The “open borders” kooks and liberals have used them for years. Why not anyone else?

Additionally, there is overwhelming evidence that pro-illegal immigration advocates/kooks incite intolerance and violence. For example, see the recent beating and stomping of an effigy of Maricopa County (Phoenix) Sheriff Joe Arpaio, captured on video and reported in the Arizona Daily Star. This occurred at a rally sponsored by the Coalición de Derechos Humanos, a prominent illegal alien advocacy group.

In spite of a truly ugly protest organized by these pro-illegal alien protesters in front of a Tucson, Arizona, bookstore none of the self-anointed guardians of civil discourse have uttered a word of condemnation of these actions.

Oh!…. by the way, clearly depicted in the video, carrying the effigy head of Sheriff Arpaio is Isabel Garcia, an attorney for the Pima County (Tucson) public defender’s office (what’s that all about?).

If it were any other group, including the National Socialist Movement, it would be considered by the “open borders” kooks as a hate crime, but since it’s against a white man, there can’t possibly be any need to raise that issue, right?

If anyone thinks that this does not or will not happen here in Nebraska, think again! All a person has to do is look at the border and surrounding mid-western states. It’s already here, Nebraskans!

In the next few months leading up to the 2009 State legislative session, the NebraskaObserver will be bringing examples of this type of activity to your attention.

Nebraska: Illegal immigrant driver’s license scheme brings stiff prison sentence for one man

Posted by nebraskaobserver on July 2, 2008

An Omaha man, Saidjon Ibragimov, pleaded guilty in federal court as part of a national ring to get driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants. As the co-leader of the operation, Ibragimov, 22, of Omaha was convicted in federal court in Nebraska for transporting 15 illegal immigrants from New Jersey to Nebraska to purchase licenses, between Nov. 30, 2006, and June 13, 2007. Ibragimov was the fourth and final member of the operation to be convicted in the conspiracy and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Ibragimov was charged with bribing a Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles employee in Omaha who told authorities in 2006 about a man who offered to pay her for state driver’s licenses. As it turns out, Ibragimov, a native of Tajikistan, had gotten to know the state worker because he served as a translator at the office.

Investigators said Ibragimov brought people from countries all over the world to Omaha to get illegal licenses and let them stay at his apartment. He gave the DMV agent $4,000 and seven passports, and told the employee he would bring Chinese, Mongolian and Tajik nationals from Chicago and the Nebraska area to the office to obtain licenses. Investigators secretly recorded subsequent conversations between Ibragimov and the DMV employee.

Agents arrested Ibragimov and 14 other people two days after their last taped conversation took place. In addition to the four people convicted in the conspiracy, nine others were charged with fraud and bribery.

At the time of the arrests, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Department, which participated in the eight-month investigation, placed detainers on 10. That meant the agency suspected the men were illegally in the country.

Following his time in jail, Ibragimov will serve three years of supervised release.

EDITOR’S NOTE: We don’t see any reference in either story to whether Ibragimov is a citizen or here on a visa. Is supervised release the same as parole?…or code for illegal who is being allowed to remain in U.S. If he is here legally but not a citizen, why isn’t he being deported? Any ideas out there?

Omaha: DUI, speeding, tequila, beer bottles, cockroaches & NE-HHS = toddler in critical condition

Posted by nebraskaobserver on June 10, 2008

A Hispanic male, Miguel A. Fuegos-Bautista, is behind bars after a Sunday night DUI incident in which his 2 year old son will probably be left a paraplegic. Besides drunk driving, he was cited for felony child neglect.

Nebraska state law requires all children up to age 6 to ride in a federally approved car seat or booster seat that is appropriate for the child’s age, height and weight. Children aged 6 to 18 must be in a seat belt if they are not in a booster seat. Nebraska law prohibits children under age 18 from riding in cargo areas in any vehicle. Drivers and front seat passengers must wear a seat belt or be in a child safety seat.

Nebraska’s seat belt law is a secondary law. Drivers can be cited for this violation only if stopped for a separate violation. Violating Nebraska’s seat belt law carries a fine of only $25.00, for each offense.

Now we all know (well not everybody would agree) that our law enforcement personnel do a great job with the resources they have. However, our state legislators apparently feel that a child’s life and future is only worth $25.00. Instead of spending time giving the taxpayers money to promote North and South Omaha (Little Mexico) as a tourist attraction, their time and our money would be better spent on bills to protect children and the taxpayer.

The Nebraska Observer wants to see some answers to some politically incorrect questions. What is the nationality and citizenship of the parents? Are they here legally or illegally? Do they speak English? Did Miguel A. Fuegos-Bautista have a valid driver’s license? What other, if any, offenses has Miguel A. Fuegos-Bautista committed in this state or any other state? How many other people are currently living at the father and mother’s new address? Since Health & Human Services was still responsible for Selvin’s welfare, how many home inspections were done after they did a walk through on March 14 and what about those family support services, which could include lessons in basic parenting skills they were receiving,? Does the Douglas County Attorney’s office know these answers and willing to tell? Somebody knows.

As far as we are concerned, he can rot in “hell” but he will probably get off because he is just trying to better himself, Hispanics are very family oriented, he didn’t understand the language, he didn’t understand our laws or driving fast and recklessly is a Hispanic male “cultural” thing. Pick one.

Letters/Opinions/Comments – Week of May 18, 2008

If you would like to really understand the difference between the argument that illegal aliens do the jobs American citizen workers won’t do vs. American citizen workers can’t afford to take the jobs illegal aliens do….watch this eye-opening video How Union Workers Are Affected By Illegal Immigration [Video] .

Omaha World-Herald – PUBLIC PULSE -May 24, 2008

Ginny Campbell, Omaha responds to Aida Cruz, May 17 letter and asks her where the fairness is in 12 million immigrants invading our country and having a feeling of entitlement to everything we have at no cost to them.

Omaha World-Herald -PUBLIC PULSE -May 23, 2008

Nick R. Bechtel, Fremont…..legal immigration is when someone knocks on the front door and is glad to meet you. Illegal immigration is when someone comes in the back door in the middle of the night, makes himself at home and can’t understand why he is not welcome.

Leonard Hill, Iowa….if you bleeding hearts feel so bad for them, then go to their country and help them get a better life. Legal immigrants, yes; illegal immigrants, no.

Omaha World-Herald – Public Pulse – Saturday May 17, 2008

Aida Cruz, David City….. Why do human beings have to judge? It’s just not fair.
