Looking for a leader

Why is it that Republican presidential candidates can get elected but can’t seem to govern? In the 20th and 21st centuries, Republicans have occupied the White House 11 times. Unfortunately, only three of the Republican presidents were what I would call top leaders.

Republicans started the 20th century with a great president in Theodore Roosevelt. Then they gave us William Howard Taft, Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, and Hebert Hoover. Dwight D. Eisenhower broke the loser string, but then we got Richard Nixon.

Republicans get half a point for Gerald Ford and another half point for George H.W. Bush. In between, they gave us Ronald Regan, who did little in the White House. Finally, we have George W. Bush, who I believe will be known as the worst president in the history of the United States.

Now, the Republicans want to foist on us John McCain, a person whom I think is too old, flip-flops on the issues, has left his values behind and is willing to say or do anything to be president.

I don’t know if McCain can win the presidency, but I know he can’t govern for the people if he does.
