Immigration can work

In response to Jennifer Silva’s April 30 letter, my wife is an immigrant and a green-card holder. It has cost us almost $2,000. The first card was issued within four months after she arrived here, and she now has received a 10-year green card.

But my wife came here legally. If someone broke federal laws, not once but twice, in coming here illegally as a teenager, what can be expected? In this country, if someone breaks the law, that person pays the price.

My wife and I immigrated legally, and we had no problems. The only problem we had was when they raised the fees more than 100 percent.
