A man who fired two rounds into a Grand Island bar, striking two bystanders, has entered a plea agreement. Gabriel T. Carson, 31, of Doniphan, pleaded no contest to attempted first-degree murder and use of a gun to commit a felony. The charges stem from a Jan. 25 shooting at El Tabares, 106 W. Fourth St.
The incident began when Carson and another man, Jacob Weddle, decided to purchase some cocaine. They went to a local motel but headed to the bar after they were unable to buy the drugs at the motel. At the bar, they gave money to Ricardo “Rico” Aguilar for drugs, but when he refused to return the money or give the men any drugs, they left and returned with the handgun, Daugherty said. story
